Mark Kilby has been a mental health professional for 30 years and an accredited CBT therapist for 13 years. He originally trained as a Registered Mental Health Nurse primarily working with severe mental health problems becoming a clinical specialist and then one of the first Nurse Consultants in mental health. Following this he became an Education and Practice Consultant within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust before taking the leap to become a full-time Cognitive Behaviour Therapist in private practice in 2003. He provides supervision to a number of Staff in the local NHS Trust and has provided training to a variety of audiences including Psychology Doctorate students and staff working in Dangerous and Severe Personality Disorder Units within the prison service.
He has received a BSc (Hons) in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from Kings College London and an MSc in Psychosocial Interventions from the University of Sheffield.
Much of his current case load are clients with complex problems including trauma, depression, addictions and problems associated with personality disorders as well as anxiety disorders such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
